Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission present the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.

And this week's honoree is Cason Carswell, the senior quarterback for the Mason HS football team.

Cason threw five touchdown passes in the Bulldogs' 45-14 victory over Linden in the Division 3 district finals last Friday night at Mason HS.

He is a 3 1/2 year starter at QB who has led the Bulldogs to four straight district titles and a Division 3 state title appearance last year at Ford Field.

Cason is the school's all-time leader in career passing yards and career touchdown passes.  And he has verbally committed to play football next season at Western Illinois.

Carswell is an excellent student, carrying a 3.6 grade point average.  And he is a three-sports athlete.  As he plays basketball in the winter, and golf in the spring.
