A Grand Blanc man was recently indicted on charges of bringing a minor across state lines for sexual activity.

We first told you about Chason William Gregory Pointer, 42, earlier this month when he was caught at a hotel in Fenton with the minor, a 15-year-old girl. At that time, his name had not yet been released.

Pointer reportedly drove to Ohio, picked up the girl, and brought her back to Michigan.

Upon arrest, he told authorities that the two had met online and that he believed she was 18 years old.

According to Click on Detroit, Chason Pointer was a youth soccer coach in Holly. He is currently being held behind bars without the option of bond and has entered a not guilty plea in the case

This investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have additional information to contact agents at the FBI Detroit Field Office (313) 965-2323.

Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who believes their child may have been a victim of Chason Pointer during his time working as a youth soccer coach.

This is a very concerning situation, and any information could be helpful to the investigation. We will continue to provide updates as more details become available.

I have said this before, and I will say it again, and again - take the time to talk with your kids about the dangers of online predators.
