Petco Closing Michigan Store as Part of Nationwide Cuts
It seems that another national chain is closing several locations across the US, including in Michigan. And if you have a pet (and shop for pet supplies), this could affect you.
Business Closures in Michigan
Michigan is no stranger to business closures. In the last year, we've seen several major chains close locations throughout the Mitten State, with some brands leaving the state entirely.
In 2025 alone, Michigan has seen Rite Aid, Buca di Beppo, Hooters, BD's Mongolian Grill and more close all or some of its Michigan locations.
The next national chain on the list is Petco.
Petco Confirms Store Closures
Petco is taking a look at their bottom line and making moves to try to improve it. One of those moves includes closing 25 locations across the country, including at least one in Michigan. It may be worth noting that Petco closed 25 US locations in 2024 as well.

I say at least one, since Petco has only confirmed 13 of the 25 closures so far. The Michigan location listed is at 32074 Gratiot Avenue in Roseville.

There are plenty of other Petco locations across Michigan, including one in Lansing. We'll have to wait to see where the remaining closures might take place.
