The Viral Van in Lansing

Recently in the Lansing subreddit, user qwalos_the_dreamer posted a picture they had taken of Mrs. Michael Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians van. What struck OP most was Mrs. Michael's tagline: "No creepy guys!"

Apparently the tagline gave OP "the ick".

However, when looking at the picture, what struck me first wasn’t the tagline, but the picture of a blonde woman on the van looking back at me.

This whole situation required more information before passing any more judgement, so I went in search of some answers from Mrs. Michael.

Who Is Mrs. Michael?

Mrs. Michael is a real person who has a husband, two kids, and a grandchild. When her kids were babies, she and her husband started this multi-faceted trades business. And from there, it's really taken off.

Currently, Mrs. Michael operates branches offering plumbing, electrical, and HVAC service in Howell, Farmington Hills, and Ann Arbor.

Based on the company's beliefs (health, friendliness, charity, family, value, and many others), Mrs. Michael seems like a nice enough business. And if you check them out on Google, you'll see that they have a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars and almost 2,500 reviews, so they must be doing something right.

But How Do They Spot a “Creepy Guy”?

After learning all this, the only question I have is; how does Mrs. Michael determine whether or not a guy is creepy?

Believe me, as a small human who has had creepy service people in their home before, the premise of this business is great. However, what steps are taken to make sure someone isn't creepy? I'm sure background checks and similar vetting measures. Inquiring minds want to know.
