Mid-Michigan Festivals 2025

Mid-Michigan has a lot going on this summer, from music festivals that have been going on for decades to food festivals that are serving up plenty of deliciousness.

One festival is a little bit different though.

Prepare yourself for A Festival of Oddities.

What is A Festival of Oddities?

This festival has a little bit of everything going on.

Food trucks? Check. Authors that write about the paranormal and true crime? Check and check. A museum that features oddities from around the world? Triple check.

Plus, there is so much more that goes on. A ghost hunt, a silent auction, true crime trivia, and a haunted history tour.

In fact, so much goes on that since its inaugural year in 2019, A Festival of Oddities has grown tremendously. Every year (with 2020 being a little different for obvious reasons) has seen record-breaking numbers and it's grown so much that in 2023 it became a two-day festival.

When and Where is the Festival?

If you want to see everything that this fun and creepy festival has to offer, mark your calendar for Saturday, August 30 from 11 am to 6 pm and Sunday, August 31 from 11 am to 4 pm.

It's taking place both inside and outside of the Courthouse Square Museum in Charlotte. The admission to the grounds is free for all ages. That's where you'll find vendors, artisans, and food trucks of all kinds.

If you'd like to check out the historic Courthouse Square Museum, it's $5 per person.

The festival should be a fun and spooky time! Anyone familiar with Deadtime Stories in REO Town will know exactly what to expect from the festival. The owner of Deadtime Stories, Jenn Carpenter, is also the owner of Scream Queen Productions, LLC. Under that name, Jenn hosts a true crime podcast and is the author of multiple books, in addition to be the owner of Deadtime Stories. And let's not forget about Deadtime Stories' second location inside the Courthouse in Charlotte!
