These Mid-Michigan Bakeries Have Some of the Best Cinnamon Rolls in Michigan

If you want to know about the best food that Michigan has to offer, you have to go straight to the source: Michiganders. And that's what Awesome Mitten did.

Awesome Mitten is a publication dedicated to all the amazing things about the Great Lakes State. So when they went in search of the best cinnamon rolls in Michigan, they knew to ask Michiganders.

Where Michiganders Say to Find the Best Cinnamon Rolls

When Awesome Mitten asked the members of the Day Trips in Michigan Facebook group where to find the best cinnamon rolls in the Mitten State, they showed up with plenty of delicious answers.

What they learned was that there were warm, gooey cinnamon rolls all over Michigan that were good enough to make the list. Nine bakeries total made the list, ranging from big cities to hidden gems Up North.

However, two of the best cinnamon rolls in Michigan can be found right here in Mid-Michigan.

Two Mid-Michigan Bakeries Make the List

Of the nine bakeries with the best cinnamon rolls, one is Mitten Raised Bakery in East Lansing and the other is Cinnamon Lane Bakery in Old Town Lansing.

And obviously, if Michiganders said these were some of the best cinnamon rolls around, I had to try them both... for science.

After my rigorous testing (going to both bakeries and ordering a cinnamon roll to taste test), here's what I concluded: both cinnamon rolls are delicious in their own ways.

I loved the frosting from Mitten Raised Bakery — it was super creamy and almost had a hint of marshmallow taste to it. At Cinnamon Lane Bakery, the roll had more cinnamon, which I really liked.

Either way, you can't go wrong with a deliciously baked confection from either bakery.
