Chicken tenders are really having their moment in the fast-casual eatery scene, and everyone seems to have their favorite.

If you're a big fan of Raising Cane's, you're in luck—the famous chicken chain is hoping to open a location in Lansing.

When and Where Raising Cane's Plans to Open

News about Raising Cane's came up during a public meetings in Delta Township. In one of those meetings, Planning and Economic Development Director Peter Menser said, "January 12 is the first Planning Commission in 2026", "There, a Raising Cane’s chicken restaurant has proposed for construction at the northwest corner of Elmwood and West Saginaw.”

The northwest corner of Elmwood and Saginaw is where the Lansing mall is located.

At this time, that's as much as is known about the proposed development. We won’t know much more—including whether and when Raising Cane’s receives approval—until after the new year.

If Raising Cane's joins that area of Delta Township, it will have a bit of competition from Chick-fil-A, Popeye's, and KFC. However, Raising Cane's seems to have a following with extreme loyalty. Case in point: at the recent opening of Raising Cane's in Kentwood near Grand Rapids, the first person in line for the opening camped there overnight.

If and when Raising Cane's opens in Delta Township, it will join five other locations; Ann Arbor, Canton, East Lansing, Kentwood, and Portage.
