Watch Happy Gilmore on a Lansing Golf Course for Free This Summer
Summer is in full swing in Lansing. The weather is warm, the mosquitoes are biting, and Lanstranauts are itching for reasons to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
There are plenty of things to do around Lansing that are indoors, but what about outdoor activities? Groesbeck Golf Course has us covered, and I'm not just talking about for rounds of golf.
Groesbeck Golf Course Is Hosting Free Outdoor Movies
Sure, you could grab your clubs and play a quick nine at Groesbeck Golf Course. However, they're going to be changing up the entertainment for a couple of evenings this summer with some movies!
Grab your blankets and your bug spray and get ready to join Groesbeck Golf Course and Lansing Public Media for two different movies this summer: Happy Gilmore on July 10 and The Greatest Game Ever Played on August 14. You'll be sitting right on the course while you enjoy both movies.
What You Need to Know Before You Go
And the best part? The movies are free! You just BYOB&B—bring your own blanket (or chair) and bug spray. Plus, the clubhouse will be open for you to purchase snacks and drinks.
As far as the times for the events, that's where you'll have to do a little estimating. The events start about 20 minutes after dusk, so I would plan to arrive there before sunset to stake out the best spot.
Rules for Groesbeck's Movie Nights
There are a few rules to know before you go:
- Bring your own blanket or chair for seating
- Concessions are available for purchase at the clubhouse
- Apply your bugspray in the parking lot BEFORE you get to the course, NOT on the grass
- No outside alcohol, coolers, digging holes, pulling grass, or dogs
This should be a fun way to spend a couple of nights this summer for free!
