The Motel Made From a Caboose: South Haven
When you stay in overnight accommodations, what do you prefer?
Holiday Inn?
Ramada?
Drury?
Or maybe just some little out-of-the-way motel by the side of the road?
How about spending the night in a caboose?
The Caboose Inn in South Haven has two actual 1920s train cabooses, refurbished as overnight suites. Each caboose sleeps two with a queen-size bed, bathroom, and kitchenette.

The Caboose Inn is located near the old depot next to the Draw Bridge on the Black River. But an overnight stay in a caboose is not all you can do while staying.
Accommodations feature air conditioning, beaches, biking & hiking access, convenience store, covered porches, decks, dining, patio, private parking, shopping, swimming pool, TV set, wifi, and more...so there’s plenty to do instead of just staring at the four caboose walls.
Never even imagined spending the night in a caboose? It just might be the bucket list item you’ve been looking for. The Caboose Inn is located at 555 Dyckman Avenue, South Haven. Take a look at the gallery below for photos inside the cabooses and out...!
