Thanks to the Michigan State Police (MSP) and its new cold-case website, true-crime followers like me can explore some of the state's most notorious unsolved crimes and maybe, just maybe, help solve one. Today, we'll zero in on the nearly 50-year-old disappearance of Glenna Jane West.

I keep coming back to one detail in the Glenna Jane West cold case: she had four young children. Nearly half a century later, her disappearance remains a mystery... but hopefully, not for long.

Glenna West’s Disappearance in St. Joseph, Michigan

According to the MSP, Glenna, 34, was last seen in St. Joseph, Michigan, near 101 Church Street around 11:30 p.m. on November 24, 1977. Her purse was reportedly found that same day at the Holiday Inn, now known as the Silver Beach Hotel.

According to the original investigation, she may have been driving a greenish-brown, American-made, full-sized station wagon from the 1960s or 1970s. The Charley Project lists her description at the time as 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
