Michigan’s Smallest Park? Esrey Park, Keweenaw Peninsula
It’s a long drive.
It's only three acres big.
But it’s worth the drive and worth the view.
It’s Esrey Park, undoubtedly one of Michigan’s smallest parks. Located at 11899 M-26 in Copper Harbor, the view looks out over Lake Superior with beautiful scenery all around, as the park lies between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
At the top of a stone staircase sits an old-fashioned gazebo along the stone walkway. The park is perfect – I mean, really PERFECT - for a picnic. The kids can collect all kinds of rocks on the beach while you amaze at the dazzling Lake Superior views surrounded by all the different types of northern trees.

Esrey Park has been around for a long, long time – going back at least 100 years. Another feature is the 10‑foot stone wall that was constructed in 1933, which has a tamarack tree growing from the center.
This makes for a serious addition to your summer roadtrip...you won’t be disappointed.
